MAINE HUNTING

Black Bear, Whitetail Deer, Bobcat, Moose, and Coyote hunts are week-long trips. Your trip includes a 5-day hunt, (arrival Sunday 3:00pm, departure Saturday by 10:00am), a Registered Maine Guide, transportation, all the delicious home-made food you can eat, and lodging in our very comfortable, family style home or cabins.

Whitetail Deer Hunting

Pine Grove Lodge is in great deer hunting territory!  Bob Howe, the owner, has thousands of acres of public and private lands to hunt on.  We can accommodate the gun-hunter as well as the bowhunter with long or close range shots. For bowhunters, we have lots of private farm land to hunt on.  Even in recent years, when the deer population is down tremendously, we produce bucks year after year!  We take deer hunting very seriously and put in the time and effort needed to make your hunt here the best it can be!

We are now in the middle of deer season for 2011. We had a warm spell for 2 weeks where temperatures were reaching mid 60's.  Pawing, deer scapings and other signs have increased 100% in the last few days and we are looking forward to next week.

 Black Bear Hunting Over Bait Sites

We offer the finest guided bear hunt around!  We maintain over 125 bait sites to give each hunter throughout the season an active bait to sit on.  Our guides bait the sites daily so they know which baits are the best, remember, we want you to get a bear as much as you do! We provide you with a safety and informational meeting before anyone heads out to hunt.  We take safety very seriously and we have guidelines we like everyone to follow. We have ladder tree stands and ground blinds and can accommodate the handicapped hunter as well. Price $1650/pp,5 day/6 nights, includes all meals, lodging, and daily transportation to and from the bait site.

Black Bear Hunting with Hounds

Let the chase begin!  There is nothing else like it!  Early morning departure, the dogs scenting a bear having recently been in the area, releasing them on the trail, and listening to the passionate barks and yelps as they get closer to the bear, and eventually put it in a tree.  If you've never done it, you'll want to try it.  You must be in good physical condition for this hunt, the potential is there to hike miles, or you could get lucky and tree the bear close to the road. We only take 1-2 people per week, we still have vacancies for 2010!  Price: $1900/pp,5 day/6 nights, includes all meals, lodging, and transportation.

  Bobcat

We hunt bobcats with hounds, and it is best after a fresh snow.  This is one of Bob's favorite hunts, because the bobcat is so elusive.  You must be physically fit for this hunt.

Moose

We are in prime moose country and have excellent success rates!  Moose permits must be applied for through Inland Fisheries and Wildlife. Our zone choices would be 8,13,7,and 14. Once you have been drawn for a permit, call for your reservation.
