The Allagash Wilderness waterway is one of the most beautiful stretches of Maine
wilderness in the state. With over 90 miles of untouched lake, pond and river, it is an
unforgettable adventure that will inspire for years to come. The Allagash is home to lots
of wood cutting history as it was once at the heart of the logging operations in Maine.
Along the waterway there is abandoned trains, logging tools, derelict dams, and many
more interesting artifacts which remain, lost forever to the forests. We have taken
people of all ages down the Allagash, and we have two trip options. The seven day trip
begins at Chamberlain Lake and ends in Allagash village, less than 10 miles from the
Canadian border. The five day trip cuts out the long paddle across Chamberlain Lake
which is known to be extremely windy at times and puts in at Indian Pond Stream. Both
trips are amazing experiences which will let you experience the beautiful Maine
wilderness in its more raw form.
